Greetings students and staff. We have recently been having issues with students with significant dress code violations. Please remember that clothing with inappropriate language and pictures are not acceptable. In addition, low cut tops, tank tops and short skirts are also not acceptable. Students who violate dress code will be asked to wear our school-issued clothing to ensure they fall back in compliance with our dress code policies. Students may also face disciplinary action if they are found in violation. These guidelines and policies can be found in our handbook on our school website at www.yasd99.com and in the Arizona School Board Association Policy Bridge website. Thank you for your cooperation!

Greetings YASD students and parents! We are nearing the end of the semester with only 15 school days remaining! Please be very conscientious of your absences as we approach the end of the semester. Students who have 10 or more absences risk having their classes reset, which would be a shame this close to the end! Also, many students are leaving early and coming in late, and sometimes these also count as 1/2 day absences, which also quickly add up! Students must have their classes completed by the end of the semester on Thursday, December 21st unless they have been granted an incomplete under special circumstances. Give these last few weeks your ALL to get your classes done! You can do it!

Greetings Aspire High School students!  We recognize that some of you appreciate the ability to work in the office from time to time.  We want to support that.  However, recently there has been in influx of students wanting to come to the office to "work" so they can also play on their phones.  As a result, if you want to work in the office, you MUST hand in your phone.  You may not have your phone in your possession if you are working in the office.  YOU MUST TURN IT IN UPON ENTERING THE OFFICE.  We simply do not have the ability to monitor student phone use as easily as your teachers do in the classroom and some of you have taken advantage of our kindness in allowing you to work up here.

Greetings YASD families! Human Trafficking has become a spotlight of extreme concern for our youth. Many of you have expressed great concern about keeping your own kids safe from this horrible act. As a result, on Thursday, October 26th from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm, our parents will have an opportunity to learn about Human Trafficking and how to help keep your kids safe! Dinner will be provided. A movie room and other activities will be available for students and younger siblings while parents are engaged in the session. This training will provide information on human trafficking right here in our Arizona communities. Learn how traffickers in Arizona recruit their victims, the role of social media, and steps that parents and others can take to protect children. We also provide real-life examples of human trafficking and explain what you should do if you suspect someone may be a victim. This training is appropriate for adults as well as youth ages 14 to 18. Again, this event will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the main campus, located at 2972 Centerpointe East Drive, Prescott, AZ. For more information, please email Dr. Kellie Burns at kburns@yavapaicountyhs.org.

Greetings YASD students, parents and guardians. In addition to cell phone misuse, it has been brought to our attention that a significant amount of students have also been bringing vapes to school and sharing them with friends. In addition to this being against school policy, there are also several laws in Arizona in which bringing a tobacco device such vapes to educational settings and sharing them with minors (even if it is minors sharing with minors) is a violation of the law. Please know that school administration has metal detectors on hand at all of their campuses. These will be used periodically at school. Any students caught with a vape in their possession - on their person or in their property- will face disciplinary action and could face legal consequences as well as school suspension or expulsion. It is our collective duty to keep our schools safe. Please be part of this solution. We appreciate your added assistance to tackle this issue as well. Thank you!

Good morning students. I have missed you and am looking forward to being back at school next week. This is a reminder to you that cell phones need to be kept out of sight in your classrooms if your paychecks do not indicate your earned privilege to have them out. You all should be aware of the rules. If you need a reminder, please KINDLY ask your teacher to explain in more detail. The good news is you ALL have the ability to earn the cell phone privilege in class and I encourage you all to work to be part of the solution. You education is our top priority and we are trying to ensure there are limited distractions and disruptions in class. Please remember that. Have a great day today and do your best to be part of a positive solution to change. See you soon. Dr. Burns.

Due to several recent disruptions and student behavior issues, the school is taking a firm stance on phone usage. We will be tying students use of cell phones during school hours to their behavior paychecks. Any student with a low or unsigned paycheck must turn over all cell devices to the teacher upon arrival to the classroom. Phones will be kept in a secure spot in the classroom by teachers. Students MAY use their phones during break time provided they haven't lost all privileges. Failure to follow the procedure will result in disciplinary action as outlined in the handbook. If you have questions about classroom procedures, please contact your student's teachers for more information. Please talk to your students about appropriate phone usage and the issues that can arise if they do not follow classroom expectations and rules. Thank you for your willingness to support us in this upcoming challenge!

Congratulations Ms. Marks!
Greetings YASD Students! We have new outings added to our calendar!  On October 30th, we will have a man who creates and designs video games come to Aspire!  (Check out the app or website for more information.) This means we can have a BIG group of kids attend!  ALL students will need to apply to attend but only students at YCHS or Transition will need to have a permission slip turned in.  We are also working on an outing for a local mechanic so please be watching for that date to open up! Also, we still have openings for the Fair Street Hair Salon outing and the KPPV Radio Station outing!  If you are interested in attending any of these, apply as soon as possible to better your chances!

Attention Yavapai County High School staff and students- you may park in the school parking lot today. A change of parking arrangements will begin tomorrow. We will show you when you arrive at school today. Thank you!

Hello Yavapai County High School students and families- here is an important message from the construction crew who are working near the high school. It involves instructions for parking changes starting next week, Monday, September 18th: Crews will be paving Baja Circle on Monday and they would like students and staff to park on the construction road (the one that was previously used but has been blocked for a week or so) and then walk in from there. The lot on the east side is starting to be developed and is not an option. If you have any questions, please call the school at 928 759 8126. Thank you!
